Making art, inch(ie) by inch(ie)

I can't remember how I first came across the work of Amy Maricle and her Mindful Art Studio, but in spring 2024 I signed up for her "inchie challenge": for twelve days I received an email prompt to turn into a small (maximum 2 in x 2 in) bit of art.
As someone who has been interested in--yet intimidated by!--stretching myself into visual art, making tiny art opened huge doors for me.
Here are the "inchies" I've made so far--some from Amy's prompts, and others on my own:

As you can see, I've been experimenting with watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, ink, collage and embroidery, all (so far) on watercolor paper. I find that I'm much more willing to be playful when I know I have just a small square to fill!
In addition, some of the designs I used were inspired by Amy's book, Draw Yourself Calm, which I have really been enjoying. More on that some other day!
